# Umbraco Search Documentation

Umbraco Search is a free and open source add-on for Umbraco CMS. It helps you build appealing search experiences for your website users, without requiring in-depth knowledge of the underlying search technology.

In addition, Umbraco Search can also power both the backoffice content search and the [Content Delivery API](https://docs.umbraco.com/umbraco-cms/reference/content-delivery-api).
